| Just
4 Kids Warehouse got a "make-over"
recently with the help of Project HOPE Staff and a
student volunteer from Key West High School. The
group spent the afternoon at the Just 4 Kids
Warehouse, assembling shelving units, sorting and
organizing school supplies, new clothes, new shoes,
and hygiene items that will be distributed to
children throughout the Keys.
Just 4 Kids is a
community outreach program working all year to
assist in the daily lives of children throughout the
Keys who find themselves in hardship situations,
including illness, homelessness, loss of parents,
and poor family financial situations. The program is
a free resource for all teachers, and will provide
any at risk child with new school supplies, new
clothing, new hygiene items or whatever the teacher
deems necessary. Currently, more than 2,000 children
throughout Monroe County are being served through
this program.
Donations of any of
these items are still needed and can be dropped off
at any TIB or First State Bank branch in the Keys.
Volunteers are also needed, so if you would like to
volunteer for a couple of hours a week to help sort,
stock, and fill the orders at the Just 4 Kids
Warehouse in Key West, call Just 4 Kids at
305-292-6873 or Project HOPE at 305-434-9034.
